He serves as Chief Economist for organizations like the Maryland Bankers Association and Associated Builders and Contractors. A recognized leader in the field, he was named one of the Baltimore Business Journal's 20 most powerful business leaders in 2010 and entered the Daily Record's Circle of Influence in 2022. As the Distinguished Economist in Residence at Goucher College, Dr. Basu teaches History of Economic Thought. With four graduate degrees, including a J.D. and a Ph.D., he offers deep expertise and a wealth of knowledge—all with a sense of humor that makes his presentations unforgettable.

Event Cancellation Policy: Cancellations must be received 48 hours before the event to receive a refund. Tickets are available at the door as space accommodates, with FULL payment upon arrival. Walk-in ticket pricing is adjusted to reflect venue and industry demands. If the Howard County Government offices are closed due to inclement weather, HCCC events will be canceled and rescheduled at a later date. Otherwise, events will take place as scheduled.
